COCONUT FESTIVAL?

Coconut is known as the Tree of Life because all of the parts of this tree can be use in different purposes and can produce different products. So let’s know when, where and what Coco Festival is:

WHEN:

Ø  Every January 15^th the Coconut Festival is celebrated.

WHERE:

Ø  San Pablo City, Laguna is the province where Coconut Festival is being held.

WHAT:

Ø  Coconut Festival or Coco Fest is a week-long celebration started on 1996 honouring the cities patron, St. Paul the Hermit.

EVENTS DURING COCO FESTIVAL:

Ø  During Coco Festival there are many events happening day and night. It started with a parade of the statue of the patron saint in the street where the local residents and tourist are gathered to watch and witness the incredible event, then it will be followed by competing floats and Street Dance Competition also known as Mardi Gras where elementary, secondary and college students will compete and show their beautiful and colourful costumes then nightly programs are held until the final evening when the Mutya and Lakan is chosen.

Ø  Every night the streets in the plaza are closed and many tables and chairs are placed on the streets for partying and drinking. Stages are built almost in every block where different bands perform. While on the main stage on the plaza are having different events like guesting celebrities, having battle of the band and many more.
